Mezzo takes great pride in producing products that feature both innovative technology and excellent quality. To achieve this, Mezzo completes all assembly in-house and produces most of its heat exchanger components in-house as well. Over the years, Mezzo has devoted significant time to developing and improving its quality control process which now features detailed inspection procedures for nearly every stage of manufacturing and assembly.
MICRO DRILLING EXPERTISE
Mezzo’s heat exchangers often feature thousands of microtubes. Each tube passes through a series of plates, necessitating thousands of very small holes. Mezzo is equipped with drill machines that have been fine-tuned to drill at rates exceeding 3 holes per second. In addition, Mezzo has multiple high-speed 4-axis and 5-axis milling machines capable of manufacturing even the most complex shells and tanks for our heat exchangers.
Many of Mezzo’s products feature welded tanks and structural components. With motorsports teams constantly pushing for reduced weight, welded tank walls can often be as thin as 0.06” (1.5mm) with welds that require careful dimensional control due to proximity to other critical features. Mezzo excels at these challenging joining problems by employing some of the best welders in the industry.
QUALITY IN, QUALITY OUT
Mezzo’s team knows that high-quality heat exchangers start with high-quality components. Parts, whether machined by Mezzo or an outside vendor, are inspected using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and non-contact surface metrology equipment before they are accepted for use on heat exchangers. Mezzo is also equipped to perform dye-penetrant testing on its welded heat exchangers as well as flushing, water-side pressure drop validation, and leak down tests on all heat exchangers. Mezzo is devoted to continuously improving its manufacturing and quality control techniques and processes in pursuit of its goal to produce the best heat exchangers in the world.
